President and CEO, Connie Clerici

A Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Health Science in Nursing and numerous awards to her credit (see Awards Page), Connie actively embraces change and seeks system innovations, while making a concerted effort to build and support a high-quality, publicly-funded healthcare system that is sustainable for Canadians. She was selected to be a participant in the 2008 Quantum Shift, an invitation-only joint program with the Richard Ivey School of Business in London, Ontario and KPMG Enterprise.

 Chief Operating Officer and Privacy Officer, Kathy Underwood

A physiotherapy graduate with a long-standing interest in human resources management  and ethical decision-making , Kathy has applied these skills, along with her background in best practices/quality management within the healthcare sector, to raise Closing the Gap Healthcare Group to a new height of operational excellence that is the envy of our competitors. She also brings skills and experience from her post-graduate Certificate in Conflict Resolution within Organizations to her role.

Chief Administrative Officer, Israel Mendez

Israel Mendez comes with a wide pedigree of education and career experiences. He completed a PhD in Health Sciences at the University of Calgary. After leaving an IT Health Services company five years after he co-founded it, he pursued an MBA specializing in Health Care at the Richard Ivey School of Business, graduating as an Ivey Scholar. He has held positions as a biotechnology financial consultant, a business development officer for a start-up biotechnology company, and various roles for a global pharmaceutical company. He is also certified as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
