Closing the Gap in the Community

It’s been quite a busy month for Closing the Gap. In November, we traveled as far as Vancouver to take part in healthcare conferences to learn about exciting developments and engage with the healthcare community. Here are some highlights:

HealthAchieve: November 7–9

Held in Toronto at the Metro Convention Centre, the HealthAchieve conference featured over 50 educational sessions and more than 200 speakers and 300 exhibitors. The Ontario Health Association’s annual conference has been a major meeting place for healthcare and business professionals in North America for 90 years.

For our first year at the show, CEO, Connie Clerici, and President, Leighton McDonald, joined as we partnered with CloudDX to demonstrate the remote patient monitoring kit that we’re now proud to offer. We had a great time participating in the event and even took part in the Passport Lucky Draw!

Family Medicine Forum: November 9–12

CTG Vancouver conference

We traveled all the way to beautiful Vancouver to attend the Family Medicine Forum, with over 3,000 doctors, nurses and attendees. Hosted by the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC), the event is Canada’s biggest annual conference for family doctors and healthcare practitioners.

The four-day conference was a thought-provoking experience with extraordinary keynote speeches, sessions and workshops on advances in family medicine. There was even a silent auction to help support research and education initiatives. We were honoured and pleased to take part in this premier event and to meet others in the health community who share our passion for well-being.

OACAO Aging Well: Play To Win: November 13–15

CTG Aging Well Conference

As attendees at the Niagara Falls OACAO Aging Well: Play To Win conference, we enjoyed the spectacular view of the falls and had an excellent time participating at the trade show. The Older Adult Centres’ Association of Ontario has been the leading voice of older adult centres since 1973, and has partnered with many industry leaders to bring the best in health care and older adult services.

Getting to know the other members of the community was an enriching experience, and we’re so happy that we got to take part in such an amazing event.
