Message from our CEO Leighton McDonald

To Our Clients, Families and Caregivers,
I hope you are keeping well as Fall approaches and many of our children are returning to school. While the number of new COVID-19 cases remains low, community transmission continues to occur and CTG is actively monitoring the situation. We have not let our guard down. The CTG team is working closely with public health departments, government, and other health care organizations to manage the impact on our clients, our healthcare providers, and the healthcare system.
Our number one priority will always be the safety and well-being of our clients and CTG team members, every day and at every community, school or clinic visit. All our providers are very well informed about COVID-19 and how to keep everyone safe. CTG has taken further steps to ensure both your safety and the safety of our team members. At each of your in-person visits your CTG health care provider will be wearing both a mask and a face shield or goggles. This enhanced step is being taken for your safety, as well as the safety of CTG team members.
Another safety measure we are taking before every visit is that a CTG team member will be asking you a series of screening questions. It is critical that you answer all the questions honestly as it will help us keep everyone safe. Be assured that regardless of the screening results, our providers will continue to provide excellent care to you, but they may need to take additional precautions for your safety.
I ask that you and your family members also take active steps to ensure your safety and the safety of our team members by wearing a cloth mask or face covering whenever a CTG care provider is in your home. All nursing and physiotherapy clients are asked to wear the same when visiting a CTG clinic. Wearing a mask or face covering in an indoor public setting is the law in most provinces now. CTG realizes a home is not a public space like a grocery store, however when a CTG team member is there to provide care, the same risks are present as if you were interacting closely in a public setting.
We also ask that our younger clients wear a mask when receiving nursing or therapy services, whether that be in the home or a school setting. Following government guidance, schools also require students, teachers, and staff members to wear a mask.
Kindly continue to also clean your hands frequently and practice social distancing. Combined, these actions reduce risk for yourself, your caregivers and loved ones as well as CTG providers.
I am confident CTG team members will deliver high quality care to you. By working together, we can also make every visit safe for both you and your provider. At CTG we talk about being One Team Made for Caring, we consider you part of that team, let’s care for the safety of one another.
